For many years the County Armagh Vintage Vehicle Club held regular ploughing matches, complete with prizes and trophies.

However, with a dwindling club membership and declining interest, the event faded for many years and eventually stopped.

After much discussion, the club decided to reinstate the ploughing match a few years ago.

The event followed the previous format but over time began to change to suit newcomers and beginners; and from 2025, opened up as a Working Day.

The outcome is an event which is suitable for all while still welcoming newcomers, especially those wanting to learn from the expertise on tap.

 We usually serve lunch during a break in proceedings.

It is great to have an event that is suitable for younger people and those wanting to learn ploughing.
