Welcome to the latest issue of the County Armagh Vintage Vehicle Club Newletter

The 15th November 2013 was another great night for the club as they held their 38th annual Christmas dinner dance and cheque presentaton.

The event was held in Portadown Masonic Hall, Thomas Street, Portadown, music by Barney Green and Breakaway and a great night was had by all who attended.

The annual cheque presentation is enabled by fund raising efforts throughout the year, mainly from the annual vintage rally held on the first Saturday in August in Gosford Forest Park, Markethill. Each year we choose two LOCAL charities to raise funds for, this year we were able to hand over £1,500 each to Macmillan Nurses and P.I.P.S Upper Bann group (Public Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide and self harm).

Our last meeting in December was a chill out night with a Christmas supper and secret Santa. we were also able to wish one of our honorary members Mr Henry Anderson a very happy 80th birthday.

Our next meeting is the AGM and will be held on Wednesday 8th January 2014, this meeting also includes the election of Officers for 2014. Our meetings are held in Johnston House, Fairgreen Road, Markethill on the first Wednesday of each month at 8pm, new members are always welcome.

Summing up it has been a year of mixed emotions as shortly before our rally in August we had the sad passing of our founder member Mr Hugh Grant. Hugh was a true gentleman and  friend to all as enthusiastic a member at the end as he was at the beginning. He has been sadly missed by all the members.
